Germany - DJV hunting dagger - Eickhorn Description. An excellent hunting-dagger "Hirschfänger" by Eickhorn, Solingen. Around 1960/1970. The dagger comes with an excellent etched blade to three sides. It shows huntings scenes. "Eickhorn Solingen" maker marked. A real horn grip including the emblem of the German Hunting Association "DJV".

Original good condition. Has the SS motto to one side along with the etched Himmler dedication “In Herzlicher Kameradshaft H Himmler” on the other. Blade has some wear with scratches and tarnish. The blade has the Carl Eickhorn mark on one side. Has the inspection mark “2” on the top of the cross guard.

It was taken as a war souvenir on March 31, 1945 by Platoon Seargant Raymond Ritter who served in the 3rd Platoon 99th Cavalry Reconnaissance Troop of the famous 99th Infantry Division.
